ARTIST STATEMENT

Based in the KC area, Elise takes inspiration from her own inner world, using color, shape, and texture to illustrate her state of mind at the time of creation. She works in the moment and by instinct, and is not afraid to rework a painting until it feels right. Mental health often takes center stage in her work, using the process of art making as her own therapy and way of making sense of the world and herself.

After leaving the A&D community, I have refocused my work on abstract painting, building a body of work and honing my craft.

Senior Art Specialist | Goldman Union Camp Institute

Summers 2025, 2026

Worked with high school students in an informal educational environment, exploring sketching, bookmaking, and painting.

Other duties included Artistic Director for a youth-led musical, teaching the campers to design, fabricate, and run backstage duties during the performance.

I also designed and led a large scale mural project on campus.

Sorting, pricing, and organizing donations for both the retail store and Teacher Resource Center

Specialized in designing educational environments for K-12; working directly with clients as a team with a sales consultant and project manager.
